NACHO

NACHO

Well, that's Nacho. He's a bit like a mascot - not of the whole shelter, only of the armchair in the office, where he had grown roots sitting and looking grumpy.

Nacho been in foster care for a while now, and we can finally present him again correctly.

First of all, he is not the most social dog in the world, and probably never will be. His whiskers and eyebrows and moustache make his antisociality incredibly cute - he looks perpetually grumpy and that's adorable.

Despite not being the most socialized dog in the world, he is very functional in a home. He can stay home alone, he goes for walks, he is house trained, he eats his food, even though he prefers that no one is present, so you leave the bowl down and go to another room for a while, and as he starts getting used to you, he comes and sits close to you, and even closer to you, and he can even climb to bed with you (although we don't recommend it,  at least not in the beginning).

On the road he is quite afraid of cars, and generally things with which he has not been in contact since he was a puppy, so if you live near a central road, you leave the house with caution and enter as quickly as possible in alleys, away from traffic.

Nacho is a dog that imitates other dogs, as dogs with low self-confidence usually do. The presence of a second social dog in the house will help a lot, because Nacho will copy their behaviour, or at least try, the presence of a second dog with behavioral issues will not help at all.

Dogs like him are not ideal for families with very young children, because they will not be able to follow some basic instructions on how to treat the dog - Nacho needs space, time and stability in the behavior of the people with whom he lives.

Nacho is the dog that will take a while to wag his tail, will be slow to show confidence, will be slow to look happy in a new home. The more stable his routine is, the faster he will adapt.

He will probably never wag his tail to guests, but he will wag it for you. Just for you. And this is what makes those people who have adopted "fearful" dogs bond so much with them, this exclusivity, at least in the early days, or in the early years. Sometimes all the years of the dog's life.

RICHARD

RICHARD

Richard came to the shelter in July, struggling to stand on his feet and licking his deep wounds. A few days later, he collapsed . He had stopped eating, didn’t respond to treatment and his organs shut down. He was hospitalized and was put on drip, leaving us with little hope for recovery. Richard was just a big sized puppy, who was forced to grow fast in order to fight hunger and sickness. Medical care and a lot of pampering helped him regain his strength and his will to live. Today we are proud to have him around us, playing and running, as all puppies should do, and give us the strength and hope to fight for the impossible. He is an amazing dog, calm, tender and social, and he is looking for a family.

RAFAT

RAFAT

Imagine a shy bear, so fluffy and chubby that makes impossible for him to hide, and yet he tries, who is old but does not know it, and as he hides, he does it with a coyness, as if all his charm is in playing it "difficult", without really being it. He sees you approaching and he looks at you with embarrassment, and he is so fluffy that you want to go in and pet him. And as soon as you get inside you he turns his back and sits in the corner like that, not to avoid you, but so that you go and pet him where he feels comfortable. And as you pet and pet, mainly underneath his neck, he slowly raises his head with a pride, and after a while he gives you his hand, and sits still. Rafat is old, but he has something that makes him still a puppy. He doesn't have the energy of the puppy who wants to conquer the world, but he has this coyness and at the same time a question about the world, as if on the one hand he doesn't know exactly what is out there, and on the other hand he does know, but is telling to go first. "you go first, and I'll follow". We'd love to see him in a home. A home becomes him, as it becomes all dogs like him.

Markos

Markos

Markos is a stray wondering for years in the streets.
He suffers from mange and extensive dermatitis that we still don't know what might be causing it. We will try to relieve the pain caused by scratching the wounds and the severe ear infection and hopefully see him happy again.
He is very sweet and affectionate and it will be a great pleasure to be able to help him.

ROBERTO

ROBERTO

Sit down, make yourself a cup of coffee, and let us tell you a story about hoe we fell in love with two bowed legs and a big head attached to a short, long body. So, he came one day, though the sterilizations program. He came to be neutered. He came like this, with his short bowed legs, and the attitude "I'm playing hard to get" . The anemia and some blood stains on his fur had us worried, and checking in his mouth, we found two huge leaches underneath his tongue (l e a c h e s!), draining him alive. So he stays in the infirmary, and then the game begins. He recovers, he leaves the infirmary, and then he goes and does this all day. He sits, wherever you put him, like that, and looks. He knows he is irresistible. He is at the same time stoic, funny and serious. At the same time! He is a womanizer, and he knows it, but he pretends that he isn't and that if we go crazy over him, he hasn't got a clue. He just sits. He is Roberto, he is perfect, and he is looking for a family to seduce as he seduced us!
